Wearing an authentic vintage dress around Christmas reminiscent of Rosemary Clooney in White Christmas is truly a holiday dream come true. I was fortunate enough to come across a gorgeous late 1940's velvet evening gown from Xtabay Vintage back in November of 2018. Luckily, it was also my measurements, and I was able to snatch this beauty up.
Rosemary Clooney - White Christmas
I had been patiently waiting for just the perfect occasion to wear it, but finally decided to just pull it out from the closet, and at very least, feature it with some much deserved photos.
One wouldn't know from the images alone, but the weather was actually only in the mid-30's with 40mph winds during the shoot. Needless to say, while I wasn't anticipating wearing a coat with the dress for the photoshoot, it was much needed the day of. So, I grabbed my Hazel Leopard Swing Coat from Hollyville to wear between shots, and accessorized with some long sheer black gloves also from Hollyville.
The night before my shoot with Cardinal White Photography, I decided to do some crafting and made my own halo crown to wear. I was spray painting silver glitter late into the evening, hoping that it would be dry to wear by mid-afternoon the following day. While it could have used some touch-ups, I think it still turned out fairly well, and held up even in the high winds.
I sincerely hope these images bring a spark of magic to your holiday season.
